QUESTIONS

PRODUCTION & FARMING PRACTICES
What does “sprout-finished” mean? +

Sprout-finished means our cattle are finished on fresh, hydroponically grown wheatgrass sprouts harvested at the peak of their nutrient density. Unlike traditional finishing with grains, our sprouts are grown indoors in a climate-controlled system, free from pesticides, herbicides, or soil contamination. This ensures clean, consistent nutrition that produces beef with superior health benefits, tenderness, and flavor.

How is your beef different from grass-fed or grain-fed beef? +

Grass-fed beef is raised on pasture, but nutrition can vary widely depending on location, soil health and seasonal forage quality.

Grain-fed beef is finished on corn or soy, creating marbling but also an inflammatory fat profile and higher cortisol stress levels.

Plainview Beef is grass-fed and sprout-finished. Our system provides cattle with controlled, clean nutrition that results in:
• Higher omega-3s and healthier omega-6:3 balance (~3.5:1 vs. 10–20:1 in grain-fed).
• Increased polyphenols, antioxidants, and enzymes.
• Fat that melts in your mouth, with tenderness comparable to grain-fed but without the health trade-offs.

What does regenerative farming mean to Plainview? +

For us, regenerative farming means more than buzzwords. We manage our land and cattle in ways that capture carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen in the soil, rebuild microbial diversity, and restore ecosystem health. Using multi-species cover crops, rotational grazing with e-collar virtual fencing, and probiotic hay fermentation, we ensure our ranch not only produces nutrient-dense beef but also leaves the land healthier year after year.

Do you use hormones or antibiotics? +

No hormones, steroids, GMOs, or mRNA vaccines are ever used. If an animal becomes sick and requires antibiotics, we treat it for welfare reasons — but that animal is excluded from our product lines to maintain purity and transparency.

Nutrition & Quality
Is your beef healthier than conventional beef? +

Yes. Compared to grain-fed beef, Plainview beef is:
• Lower in total fat (14.6% vs. 20–30%).
• Higher in omega-3s (56% more).
• Balanced with a healthier omega-6:3 ratio (~3.5:1 vs. 10+:1).
• Rich in polyphenols and antioxidants, typically absent in other beef.
• Free of detectable heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, lead, and mercury.

This makes our beef part of a preventative health lifestyle — truly “food as medicine.”

How does sprout-finished beef taste compared to others? +

Our sprout ration produces beef with a distinct, clean flavor that chefs and customers describe as tender, juicy, and more consistent than even premium grain-fed beef. The steaks retain moisture better on the grill, shrink less, and have a melt-in-your-mouth fat profile thanks to higher unsaturated fat content.

Do you offer organ meats, bones, or byproducts? +

Yes — we believe in whole-animal stewardship. Beyond steaks and ground beef, we offer:
Beef tallow skincare (balms and creams).
Snack steak sticks - One of our most popular items.
Organ supplements (freeze-dried beef liver and multi-organ blends) coming soon.
Bones for broth and future collagen products. Coming soon.

Ordering & Shipping
Do you ship nationwide? +

Yes, we ship across the United States.

How is the beef packaged and shipped? +

All beef is frozen, vacuum-sealed, and shipped in insulated boxes with dry ice to ensure safe delivery.

Is there a minimum order size? +

No strict minimum, but shipping efficiency improves with bulk orders and beef boxes.

What are your shipping days/times? +

We typically ship on set weekdays to ensure orders arrive quickly and safely — avoiding weekend delays.

Storage & Cooking
How long does your beef last in the freezer? +

Vacuum-sealed packages can last up to one year in the freezer without losing quality.

What’s the best way to thaw your beef? +

For best results, thaw slowly in the refrigerator 24–48 hours before cooking. For quick use, sealed cuts can be thawed in cold water.

Subscriptions & Bulk Orders
Do you offer beef boxes or subscriptions? +

Yes — we offer bulk value beef boxes on subscription, as well as all of our other product options, so families can receive regular deliveries of nutrient-dense beef, and beef products.

Can I buy a quarter, half, or whole cow? +

Yes — we call these our big bundle value boxes. Pricing is based on per pound rather than a flat quarter/half/whole fee, ensuring fairness and transparency.

Do you supply restaurants, schools, or businesses? +

Yes — we currently partner with chefs, health practices, and institutions that want consistent, clean beef at scale.

CAN YOU ORDER CUSTOM BOXES? +

If you can't find a box that has exactly what you're after, email us at team@plainviewbeef.com and we'd love to help you build a custom box.
